Hummers Swarming the Feeder
Hummingbirds are fiercely territorial and don't share their feeders with others. However, as it gets later in the summer, they will actually take turns. Depending on how dry the summer has been, we can have over 20 birds swarming around a single feeder. This activity usually signals their departure to southern locations. These series of photos were taken on two separate occasions at the back porch feeder.
